Agumbe is a small village town situated on the top of Someshwara Ghat, in the shimoga district of Karnataka. It is surrounded by lush green forest and is among the few places in India that receive very heavy rainfall. Not many are aware of this place and probably why the place still retains its beauty.
During the monsoons, this mesmerizing rainforest becomes a home to a lot of reptiles, insects and amphibians which are endemic to this region.
Visiting this little town and visually capturing the colourful species was always on my wish list and thanks to Amoghavarsha I had this opportunity to join him on a photography expedition to the rainforest of Agumbe.
Here are a few pics captured during this wonderful weekend getaway.

ReplyDeleteThank u Kannan and Sarbajit.
ReplyDelete@Sarbajit, Agumbe is beautiful through the year, though the rainy season has its own charms with the exotic species that you can find there. My suggestion would be for you to get in touch with Amoghavarsha, a wildlife photographer who frequents there. He will be able to give you a better perspective. You can take my reference when u call him. His number is +91 9901044344. You can also view his website www.amoghavarsha.com if you are interested in wildlife photography.
